The Best of Cape Cod!

2022-03-12
On: March 12, 2022

There are so many things to see and do around Cape Cod, but we think we found some of the best including Plymouth Plantation, the Mayflower, the New Bedford Whaling Museum, The Black Whale restaurant (for scallops), and bicycling both the Cape Cod Canal and the Shining Sea Bike Path. Which is your favorite? What did we miss? Please leave a comment here or in the comments section of video on YouTube!  Read More →

Keeping the Dogs Safe and Cool!

2022-03-08
On: March 8, 2022

Installing an Automatic Generator Starter so the AC stays on when shore power goes off. One of the great joys of RVing is being able to bring our dogs with us wherever we go. But sometimes we need to leave our furry friends “at home” in the RV while we visit museums, eat out at wonderful restaurants, or head out for a hike or bike ride. If it’s a hot day, of course we leave the air conditioners running so that our puppies can remain cool and comfortable. But what if there’s a power failure at the campground? What if the circuit breaker on theRead More →

Exploring the North Carolina Trail of Faith

2021-12-09
On: December 9, 2021

While exploring North Carolina we were able to visit two inspiring sites that resonate deeply with our faith: The Billy Graham Library, and the Waldensian Trail of Faith Museum. The first tells the story of one of the most well known Christians of the 20th century, and the other the story of a courageous group of believers who translated the Bible into French at the peril of their lives. We are thrilled to share their stories with you in this short video!    Read More →

Two New Videos!

2021-12-02
On: December 2, 2021

We’ve added two new videos since our last blog update, and we think that they’re both a lot of fun. In the first video we invite you along on our visit to St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest city in Florida, and full of beautiful things to see and fascinating things to do. We only had a couple of days to camp at Anastasia State Park, but we managed to enjoy the beach, a tour on the Old Town Trolly, and a visit to the St. Augustine Light House and museum. We definitely want to go back again when we have the opportunity! InRead More →

The BEST of the Florida Keys

2021-05-09
On: May 9, 2021

Each winter since we’ve been RVing we’ve had the goal of going to the Florida Keys. But between bad weather, full campgrounds, and family commitments, it’s taken us until this year to make it. And wow, was it worth the wait! There’s something magical as you leave the mainland, driving south on US 1. Island by island, bridge after bridge, the water seems to get bluer and the scenery more serene. Our goal was Big Pine Key, where we had reservations for ten nights at Sunshine Key RV Resort. Normally campsites at Sunshine Key can cost $110/night or more, but as members of Thousand TrailsRead More →

The LONG Journey Home

On: November 23, 2020

In May 2020 we left Florida for home. Because of covid-19, we just didn’t know how or when we’d get there! Along the way we saw a goat tower, enjoyed a beautiful sunset at an unexpected location, bought a new-for-us AC, and discovered a new favorite campground, Come along on our Trip of Uncertainty! Read More →

How to Replace a Black Tank Sewage Valve on an RV

2020-11-01
On: November 1, 2020

Changing the gate valve between the black tank and the sewage hose is not a job anyone looks forward to – but it turned out to be much easier than we feared. With just a few common tools and some plastic gloves, you can save a big bill from the RV shop by doing this simple job yourself!Read More →

Replace the Skylight on Your RV

2020-10-26
On: October 26, 2020

Back in the spring, we noticed a water stain on the ceiling over our bed. After a little exploration on the roof, Jeff discovered that the sealant around our bathroom skylight (right next to the bedroom) was cracked and failing. In addition, the skylight itself was beginning to feel brittle and showing signs of age. So we decided to replace the skylight. Here’s a short video on how Jeff did it. Don’t miss the blooper near the end!Read More →
