Two New Videos!

2021-12-02
On: December 2, 2021

We’ve added two new videos since our last blog update, and we think that they’re both a lot of fun. In the first video we invite you along on our visit to St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest city in Florida, and full of beautiful things to see and fascinating things to do. We only had a couple of days to camp at Anastasia State Park, but we managed to enjoy the beach, a tour on the Old Town Trolly, and a visit to the St. Augustine Light House and museum. We definitely want to go back again when we have the opportunity! InRead More →

How to Replace a Black Tank Sewage Valve on an RV

2020-11-01
On: November 1, 2020

Changing the gate valve between the black tank and the sewage hose is not a job anyone looks forward to – but it turned out to be much easier than we feared. With just a few common tools and some plastic gloves, you can save a big bill from the RV shop by doing this simple job yourself!Read More →

New Book! The Complete Guide to Owning and Enjoying an RV

2020-10-19
On: October 19, 2020

After three years of RVing in a 2004 Class A motorhome, we’ve learned a lot about making RV campground reservations, emptying our tanks, conserving electricity and propane, and doing many of our own repairs. We’ve also learned to go with the flow without freaking out (at least not for too long!) when Plan A doesn’t work out for one reason or another. Jeff has pulled all that learning together for you in a timely new book called “The Complete Guide to Owning and Enjoying an RV.” In Section One, you’ll find chapters that explain the functioning of the electrical, septic, and fresh-water systems; lists ofRead More →

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS: AN ACCIDENT AND ADVICE

2019-07-02
On: July 2, 2019

It was a rainy, sleety day in late November when we bundled ourselves up and buckled in our three dogs and cat into “Windy” (our new nickname for the RV). This year, we told ourselves, would be different. We’d reset our expectations about the weather – yes, it gets cold in the winter, even down south. We’d fine-tuned our plans for travel, with shorter drives, longer stays, and better planning ahead for overnight stops. With prayers that this year the pets would stay healthy, the roads would be safe, and Windy would run smoothly, we began our journey south. Would you believe that someone hitRead More →

An Ostrich Farm, A Mud Hole, A Hell Hole, and A Hole in Our RV

2019-02-07
On: February 7, 2019

It’s always something in as we visit South Carolina and Virginia. We visit Misty Morning Ranch Ostrich Farm where we enjoy Ostriches dancing, but our friends’ RV gets stuck in the mud! In Virginia we visit the National D-day Memorial, then get dropped by a tow truck when our wheel bearings fail. It’s all part of the journey! BBQ, Beaches, and Black Tape!

2018-03-22
On: March 22, 2018

We love eating BBQ and camping at the beach. We’ve come to love black tape too, by which we mean Gorilla Tape. Let’s go down the B list one by one, and you’ll find out why. Or, just watch the video!   We love BBQ, and one of our favorite BBQ joints is Doug Sauls’ BBQ in Nashville, North Carolina. If your image of BBQ is fall-off-the-bone ribs smothered in sweet, sticky tomato-based sauce, enjoy to the max! But let go of that image when you’re in the Carolinas. We discovered as much when we found Doug Sauls’ BBQ. It doesn’t look like much fromRead More →

Flat Tires, Heat Exhaustion, Broken Bumpers, and Music at Walmart

2017-10-11
On: October 11, 2017

THE MOVE – Part 3 Flat Tires, Heat Exhaustion, Broken Bumpers, and Music at Walmart It sounded simple. Park the RV in the driveway and live in it while cleaning out the house, then put the car on the new tow dolly and drive the RV to our storage facility in North Jersey. Once again, we prove that if anything can go wrong, it will. But at the end of the day, God gave us a small reminder of why we are doing this in the first place! Have any thoughts or questions about the video? Please leave them in the comments below. We’re eagerRead More →
