We LOVE visiting our National Parks, and one of our favorites, Acadia National Park, is “Just up the road a bit” in beautiful Maine. Today’s video features best of Acadia National Park including the Park Loop Road (with Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and more), sunrise on Cadillac Mountain (is it worth getting up at 4:00 am?), exploring and eating in Bar Harbor, and riding the Schoodic Peninsula, from The Narrows Too Campground.   Did we miss one of your favorite places? Exploring the North Carolina Trail of Faith

2021-12-09
On: December 9, 2021

While exploring North Carolina we were able to visit two inspiring sites that resonate deeply with our faith: The Billy Graham Library, and the Waldensian Trail of Faith Museum. The first tells the story of one of the most well known Christians of the 20th century, and the other the story of a courageous group of believers who translated the Bible into French at the peril of their lives. We are thrilled to share their stories with you in this short video!    Read More →

Two New Videos!

2021-12-02
On: December 2, 2021

We’ve added two new videos since our last blog update, and we think that they’re both a lot of fun. In the first video we invite you along on our visit to St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest city in Florida, and full of beautiful things to see and fascinating things to do. We only had a couple of days to camp at Anastasia State Park, but we managed to enjoy the beach, a tour on the Old Town Trolly, and a visit to the St. Augustine Light House and museum. We definitely want to go back again when we have the opportunity! InRead More →

The BEST of the Florida Keys

2021-05-09
On: May 9, 2021

Each winter since we’ve been RVing we’ve had the goal of going to the Florida Keys. But between bad weather, full campgrounds, and family commitments, it’s taken us until this year to make it. And wow, was it worth the wait! There’s something magical as you leave the mainland, driving south on US 1. Island by island, bridge after bridge, the water seems to get bluer and the scenery more serene. Our goal was Big Pine Key, where we had reservations for ten nights at Sunshine Key RV Resort. Normally campsites at Sunshine Key can cost $110/night or more, but as members of Thousand TrailsRead More →

The LONG Journey Home

2020-11-23
On: November 23, 2020

In May 2020 we left Florida for home. Because of covid-19, we just didn’t know how or when we’d get there! Along the way we saw a goat tower, enjoyed a beautiful sunset at an unexpected location, bought a new-for-us AC, and discovered a new favorite campground, Come along on our Trip of Uncertainty! Read More →

Magnificent Moab

In Moab, Utah we explored Arches National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and Canyonlands by Day and Night. Highlights in this video include a great hike for children at Arches, a river tour that’s both hilarious and inspiring, scenic vistas that take your breath away, and tips for getting the most out of your visit to Moab. There is so much to do and see in the Moab area that we feel like we only scratched the surface! Next time we’ll try to schedule at least a full week to enjoy all of the fun and beauty that it has to offer. IN THIS VIDEORead More →

Rocket Launch at Cape Canaveral

2020-04-04
On: April 4, 2020

One of my (Jeff’s) earliest memories is sitting in front of our tiny black-and-white TV, watching John Glenn blast into space atop a Mercury rocket. Fast forward a few years and I remember the excitement of staying up late to watch Neil Armstrong become the first human to walk on the moon. But despite watching many rocket launches on TV, I had never been in the right place at the right time to see one in person. That is, until now. While at the Thousand Trails Orlando RV Resort, we learned that there would be a daytime rocket launch from Cape Canaveral during our stay.Read More →

Three Great Las Vegas Day Trips

2020-02-25
On: February 25, 2020

We’re not into gambling, but Las Vegas seemed like a great place to fly our kids for their spring break. Of course there are lots of ways to spend money in Vegas, and we enjoyed some great shows, walking the strip, and delicious buffets. But for our video we decided to focus on three great Las Vegas day trips (well – one night trip) that were the highlights of our stay. Valley of Fire State Park is stunning and offers great hiking opportunities for all levels of fitness. We even brought our little dog Mitzi along! But get there early. Like so many “remote” sites,Read More →

2 Don’t Miss Things To Do in New Orleans

2019-09-09
On: September 9, 2019

We finally made it to New Orleans! Last year we planned to stop at the Big Easy on our way from Florida to Texas, but our plans were foiled by freezing weather and closed interstates. By the time the roads opened (and after we’d spent three shivering days in Theodore, Alabama) we had to bypass NOLA and hightail it to Texas for a church meeting. But this year things worked out great! We pulled into beautiful Bayou Signet State Park and headed out to explore. Now, if you’ve been following us for long, you know that we are not “party animals,” so hitting all ofRead More →
